The Mechanical Integrity Inspection engineer will be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for stationary equipment, maintaining a high level of technical competence regarding specific equipment design, mechanical component function, process application, repair and modifications. In addition, they will be a SME for stationary equipment RBI and inspection methodologies/NDE techniques.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Be responsible for implementing and maintaining an inspection program to meet PSM, RMP, Corporate Engineering Standards and Operational Excellence requirements for equipment;
- Design, develop and maintain internal policies/procedures/workflows relating to stationary equipment asset strategies and to ensure consistency of their application for the South Charleston Site; Perform statistical analysis of fixed equipment SAP/Meridium data to identify best practices and for KPI tracking;
- Be accountable for leading investigation of material failures and identifying and diagnosing material defects in critical equipment affecting the OEE;
- Use best practices/KPIs to drive improvement in fixed equipment reliability to ensure the Mechanical Integrity program is both effective and efficient;
- Be accountable for implementing capital work and providing the technical review for all mechanical integrity projects.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree or Master's degree or PH.D. in Mechanical or Materials Engineering, or equivalent experience of ten years in the specific field;
- Working knowledge of statistics, computer operations, process control, root cause analysis and basic engineering principles and maintenance management systems are essential;
- Demonstrated ability to address and resolve technical issues in area of discipline;
- Demonstrated strong communication skills for interacting with all levels of personnel (Sr. Management/Operating Technicians);
- Ability to develop detailed instructions for maintenance crafts training;
- Ability to develop detailed repair procedures for maintenance of contract crafts;
- Expertise in ASME, API, NDT, NDE, NBIC, and ASNT methods, codes, and calculations;
- Expertise with design/operation/maintenance of fixed equipment;
- Familiarity with Pm/Pdm principles
