This is a replacement position which reports to the Sr. Manager
Salary $105K, Bonus 9%, Fee is 25%
Relocation dependent on candidate
The primary responsibility the Senior I/E/PCT Engineer is to provide lead I&E (instrumentation and electrical)/PCT (process control technology) engineering and services for the preparation and execution of I&E/PCT portions of projects for chemical and pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities.
Responsibilities:
- Lead project PCT teams consisting of engineering and design personnel;
- Follow I&E/PCT and/or customer specific practices, standards, guidelines, and procedures for preparation of estimates, scopes, specifications, design, and other deliverables;
- Develop hardware, software, functional and user specifications for process control systems and associated components;
- Participate in the development of process control and information management strategies;
- Evaluate all PCT aspects of engineering to ensure all project objectives including safety, technical correctness, budget, constructability, schedule, maintainability, and operability are met;
- Interface with other engineering disciplines/departments, customers and vendors/suppliers to ensure successful development and execution of projects;
- Review and approve I&E / PCT specifications, drawings and other documentation; assist in compiling construction packages;
- Provide field support, and participate in check out, commissioning and start up.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited university in electrical or chemical engineering with strong interest in process control systems;
- Six+ years of experience in chemical or pharmaceutical facility in I&E/PCT design and engineering or equivalent experience;
- Registered Professional Engineer(PE) in Texas or other states (exceptions will be considered, however incumbent must be willing to pursue PE if currently does not have license);
- Excellent knowledge of field instrumentation and low/medium voltage electrical systems used in industrial processes;
- Excellent knowledge of process control strategies and systems;
- Strong computer hardware and software skills;
- Knowledge of safety systems and industrial control networks;
- Knowledge of relevant national and international standards in the area of process control, low voltage electrical, and instrumentation;
- Strong project management skills including project planning scheduling, cost control, and contract development;
- Strong estimating and cost control skills;
- Demonstrated experience in providing field support and participating in check out, commissioning, and start up;
- Systematic approach to problem definition and solution development;
- Ability to work as a member of cross-functional teams and to lead multiple projects simultaneously;
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills to deal with people at different levels of management, engineering and design, and with internal customers (e.g. engineering, maintenance, operations) and
- suppliers of PCT material and services;
- Excellent verbal and written skills in order to communicate with and obtain cooperation from team members involved with engineering, design, check out, commissioning and start-up. Demonstrated ability to write comprehensive technical and scope documents required for project execution;
- Willingness and ability to work additional hours when job assignment dictates.
