Responsibilities:
· Hands-on, creative writing and project management function and requires proven writing, media relations, project coordination and corporate communications experience
· Interacts with internal managers and staff to guide, coordinate and execute strategic marketing messages through print, web, broadcast, appearances, events, speaking engagements, sales presentations, media relations, and other tools as required to effectively communicate with internal and external audiences, including employees, customers, partners and prospects
· Develops, writes, and edits a variety of traditional and online marketing messages and communication pieces
· Produces internal and external newsletters, product announcements, product brochures, and organizational communications
· Coordinates customer communications and maintains the master calendar of marketing and communication events
· Develops press releases and advertisements, and actively participates in other public relations activities
· Supports sales efforts through the creation of lead generation and promotional campaigns
· Actively participates in brainstorming with other members of the marketing group to generate creative campaign strategies and tactics for new product launches and product enhancements
· Works closely with design staff to ensure the consistency of our brand, tone, and message and interacts with groups throughout the company to develop content
· May oversee production and mailings
· Prepares for tradeshows and events
· Other marketing communications projects as needed
· Where applicable, the Specialist will be develop and maintain effective relationships with national, local and trade media
Qualifications:
· Bachelors degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or related field
· 5 years of marketing communications experience; experience in benefits administration services a plus
· Marketing Communications project management experience
· Superior writing, editing and proofreading skills
· Ability to translate complex product information into compelling business value proposition
· Proven public relations and media relations experience, preferably with a range of consumer and business-to-business media
· Ability and experiences writing/editing press materials
· Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize a high volume of projects
· A customer service mindset and the ability to work as a member of a team, as well with all types and levels of professionals
· High level of self-motivation and the ability to work independently without constant supervision
· Experience with graphics software programs required
· Advanced ability to use Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel), Adobe Suite and Internet browsers to research and develop communications programs required
· Ability to create content and develop graphics for website pages, e-mail blasts, direct mail pieces, newsletters and other collateral
· Experience with Web and database marketing preferred
